Luda catching flack for Pro Obama Track
Friday, August 1st, 2008Atlanta rapper Ludacris has found himself in hot water as his new pro-Barack Obama song has offended women’s political group, WomenCount, who are now calling for a public apology.
“Politics: Obama is Here” takes a jab at previous Democrat candidate Hilary Clinton with the line “Hillary hated on you, so that b*tch is irrelevant.” Despite the minor mention, Barack’s camp immediately issued a statement claiming Luda should be “ashamed of these lyrics.”
“As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to,” the statement read. “This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear.”
WomenCount, which has started a campaign called “Stop the Silence” in an effort to eliminate gender bias in the media, claim the song promotes hatred and sexist language.
“This is not an issue of being PC,” said Rosemary Camposano, communications director for WomenCount, in a statement. “This is about beginning the grinding and painful process of rooting this kind of hate language and behavior whenever and wherever it exists. The Democratic leadership have pledged to unhinge our nation from gender-bias, hate-language and misogyny and we are taking them at their word.”
WomenCount was established to ensure that women’s values and votes are counted in the political process. During this year’s election the group has run a series of ads for the presidential campaign and contributed to women’s candidates running for Congress.
As of press time there has been no word from the DTP representatives’ camp.

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008A Breakdown of the Rick Ross drama
Saturday, July 26th, 2008Ever since it was confirmed about Rick Ross being a C.O. in the mid 90’s it has everyone questioning the big bosses credibility and it’s gotten rappers on edge wondering if they’re next to be aired out.
There have been accusations that have linked Trick Daddy to being the one responsible for leaking these pictures to sources. Ross and “T Double D” haven’t always been on the best of terms in the past.
“Where’s the blog or the video that shows me saying I leaked the pictures?” Trick asked in an interview with HipHopDX. “Somebody tried to use me to try to start some mess. They wanted to use Trick and I won’t let it go down like that. Whoever did leak the picture, why don’t they just be a man and say it? Don’t try to lean on my shoulder and put shit off on me.
I don’t have no comment to say about the picture and no comment to say about the situation, I am not going through no type of problems with Rick Ross or nobody else in this Hip Hop game. Definitely not anybody from my hood. Anybody know, love or respect Trick knows that is out of character for me. I don’t do shit like that!”
Now, there’s more to this story, for those who aren’t from the M.I.A. but I’m gonna catch you up a little bit: Ok, when Ross started getting a buzz off of “Hustling” he started referring to himself as the mayor of Miami (a title that Trick was dubbed for a strong minute, and as minor as it sounds that’s where the ball started rolling.) In between all of this there were quick jabs about each other in media but nothing too major. Then after what seems to have been talking and a quick kiss and make-up, Ross self-proclaimed himself as the governor of Florida. [I know WHATEVER but there's more:] Ross has been talking about this M.i.YAYO project for the longest time and for those who haven’t seen, the dvd shows some of Miami’s most notorious and well known “pusha’s of that white”, some of which are alive and have eluded the long arm of the law, one of those being Trick Daddy’s pops. Now I have conflicting sources who deal with both Ross and Trick camps who’ve seen a rough cut of it before it was put out and the final version who confirmed his father in it, but word on if it was Trick and company that put Ross out to dry with this latest pic. Plus I’m hearing the police out here are using this dvd as research to give an indication on where the men in the dvd are {SIGH} So what seems to be adding more attention to his city in Ross’ eyes, is also strengthing the chances of Tricks’ dad to get locked up. So, instead of just talking greasy to the media about the situation a picture of Ross jumps onto the internet.
From what I’ve heard, alledgedly Ross not only knows who’s exposed him but has something for them to come soon. Now I can’t call it but like I mentioned before, your boy FreshMan wants to see how this plays out. I’m sorry but Hip Hop is the New WWE. LOL! Til’ next time…
