Was there anyone angrier and more political than Cube on his first 3 solo releases? I mean, excluding Paris and Chuck D because those are just too obvious. It seems relevant since Cube is about to make a return into music and I have had the privilege of hearing an advance copy of his album and seeing him in concert within the last 12 months. I believe him 100% that he’s an mc first and he is just pimping Hollywood for this paper. He’s still got some spit in him and there’s a couple tracks on that album I really liked.
It’s too bad he got the brunt of one of the best dis tracks of all time because that will forever be in my mind despite his thorough career and discography.
This is definitely one of the illest clips I’ve ever seen. First off, EPMD talking about what they saw in Das Efx before signing them and why they have so much confidence in them. Then, interview footage with Das Efx and a super fidgety but silent Redman in the house.
The real gem here is all the concert footage. Das’s stage show looks very thorough from the looks of it. This show was in Buffalo in 1992 from what I can gather, and the crowd is not only gigantic but VERY amped. Can you imagine a bunch of girls getting down to the Pete Rock Jussumen Remix in a club today? Damn. That and the cross section of hip-hop fashion at the time. Mad rugbys, denim jackets, timbos, etc were in full effect.
i got hyped this past weekend ripping all them classic vinyls,so i was diggin thru my shit today & dug this up, you’ve probably heard this if your a quik fan but never this clean.
